Summer time in Baja @ C.L.

Here's some highlights: Last week brought very high tides that created a shallow lake in front of Gypsies, then the baby dunes and ocean. Locales are loving the lake and ocean. They are the ones playing dodge ball with the kids, clamming, chasing puppies and all the balls to throw and kites to fly, holes to dig and cover up with sand. I makes me love the beach all over again like a kid back at Newport Beach, many years ago. Juanita has been surf fishing alot and showed me how so Mike will have to set me up with a rod! David prefers reading and swimming and it is perfect for a swim. At Daves party last night JJ caught the fish and Russ smoked it along side the rest. Really good. Bob's bread baking again and his sourdough loafs, super. 61 and Sandy ate ' the whole thing' with wine and cheese. Captain Denise made thee best homemade ice cream (strawberry) and with Harlan they went out fishing. The days are unreal, so sunny with the cool, cool breeze. Skip (around the beer cooler), just came in tonight with Denise. Great to have her back. Last Fri. Harlan and Denise organized a Chimorro (spelling help here) dinner. Jardines, said have to have at least 14 to come to go to the trouble of cooking it since it takes a long time to do it right. Well over 14 signed up. It was my first and wow it must of been a pig shank for each person with the best Mex. cole slaw I Ever had. The meat tasty and tender blah blah I get carried away with food , but then why else be here, sun, beach, friends and food! Tues. Ju. and Dave, DIK, 61and Sandy and us went to the Tues. only swap meet in Gurrero Negro they said the best produce around. They were right and it was big. The venders were all so nice and good humored. Thurs. now offers tapas all night, I haven't been but said to have had calamari, clams and good stuff. (at Cielito L. bar) The swap meeters had lunch at Gaston's where his hamburgers are still #1 but the free clams that he said took the place of tortillas and salsa are now 9$ ,that we didn't know until we let them know they were so full of sand-couldn't eat em. But service so nice. Sandy has a mo. guest, Scott, a neighbor from Bouse, Az. He fit right in with his ATV ,with the guys who frequent the patio for cold ones ,who gossip worse than women. I've been way too polite, gotta stir it up once in a while. To prove humility we don't have 7 chickens that don't lay (David has figured if we ever get an egg it will be worth 160.$ ), we have 4 chickens that won't lay and 3 confused roosters . What can I say except "southern fried". Where ever you are, enjoy your summer.
