Mama Cruz
We will all miss seeing Laura's mom at the Wet Buzzard. Mama Cruz died unexpectedly in her sleep Thursday night. We will pass on condolences from everyone.

We will all miss seeing Laura's mom at the Wet Buzzard. Mama Cruz died unexpectedly in her sleep Thursday night. We will pass on condolences from everyone.

Cruz was a wonderful woman, mother, grandmother, wife and friend. She always had a warm motherly hug for us. She spent many hours deciphering (or trying to) my spanglish. I'd butcher the words, she'd tilt her head and look at me quizzically. She would utter that one word that would begin the fun, "Que?" Then the game of Sharades would begin!! Giggles would be heard from those who watched my hand gestures, twisted expressions and wild gyrations. Finally, after she thought I had suffered sufficently she would laugh, poke a fork into the food she was preparing and throw me another line to chew on.
The tears in my eyes don't express my sorrow deeply enough.
